Administration of Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS)

CHAS enables all Singapore Citizens, including Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) cardholders, to receive subsidies for medical and/or dental care at participating General Practitioner (GP) and dental clinics. Patients will need to show both their NRIC and valid CHAS, MG or PG card during their visits at CHAS clinics, and we encourage clinics to check with their patients at the point of registration. For cardholders below 15 years old, they will need to present their student ID or birth certificate and valid CHAS card. The CHAS cards are non-transferable and typically have a validity period of 2 years unless otherwise indicated on the card.

Besides subsidies for care at CHAS clinics, CHAS, MG and PG cardholders enjoy subsidised referrals to public Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs), as well as subsidised referrals to the National Dental Centre Singapore and National University Centre for Oral Health Singapore*, if required.

*Not applicable to CHAS Green cardholders
