Household Monthly Income Per Person Calculator

Household monthly income per person is calculated by taking the total gross household monthly income [1] divided by the total number of family members [2] living together.

For households without income, Annual Value (AV) [3] of the home will be used as to determine the benefits tiered for CHAS.

For households with income, you may use the Household Monthly Income Per Person Calculator below for the suggested card type. However, please note that the calculated result does not confirm your household's eligibility for the different CHAS subsidy tiers.

​To further determine your eligibility for CHAS, please complete and submit an application form. ​

Singapore Citizens aged 21 and above can apply for CHAS online​ with their Singpass, on behalf of his/her household members.

​Alternatively, you may download a hardcopy application form here​​, or pick one up at any Community Centre/Club (CC), Community Development Council (CDC), Public Hospital or Polyclinic. Once completed, please mail the form (and supporting documents, if any) to P.O. Box 680, Bukit Merah Central Post Office, Singapore 911536.

Generally, your application will be processed within 15 working days from the date of receipt of the completed application form with all supporting documents, and you would be informed of the outcome.​

[1] Household monthly income per person is the total gross household monthly income divided by total number of family members sharing the same address (as reflected on the NRIC or Birth Certificate). Gross household monthly income refers to your basic employment income, trade/self-employed income, overtime pay, allowances, cash awards, commissions, and bonuses.

[2] Family Member means a person related to the Main Applicant by blood, marriage and/or legal adoption.

[3] Annual Value is the estimated gross annual rent of a property if it were to be rented out, excluding furnishings and maintenance fees.  It is determined by IRAS and may be checked via mytax.iras.gov.sg.  Please note that the revision of AVs in 2023 will not affect subsidy eligibility, as AVs as of 2022 will be used to determine subsidy levels in 2023.
